Life's Priority

Have the opportunity to meet up with some of the old friends during the Chinese New Year holidays. Some of them have not met for the last one to two years. Even though we grew up together, but a lot of things have changed, especially our priority in life.

For some of them, the most important thing in life is money, for others may be career, kids, lifestyle, religion & etc. Our life's priority has changed with time. Compare to 20 years ago, our life's priority was very simple, may just enjoy life, academic performance, friends or co-curriculum.

Nevertheless, one thing for sure, from the way we spend our time & money, we will know our priority. It is because time & money represent our life. We use time to earn money. Time is life. Indirectly, money is life as well. The way you spend money & time is the way you spend your life. Where you spend the most your money & time, that is your life priority.

Do you put your life eternity as your life's priority? As what the Holy Bible says:

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Enjoying the relationship

Relationship is the God's blessing to the man kind. We should enjoy the relationship that we have, which may include husband & wife, parent & kids, our parents, siblings, friendship, co-workers, class mates, church friends & etc, spend time with them & invest in their lives.

Building relationship need efforts & investment, including money & time. We should invest our time & money wisely in building up the relationship with others. I know that some of you were spending a lot of your time (& money) during the Chinese New Year holidays just to meet up with your old friends & relatives.

Please do not think that it was wasting of time or money. It was the most "profitable" investment that you have made. You may not able to get the return in $$ immediately, but I can assure you that the laugher & joy that you experience during the gathering are the best return you ever have.

You are better off to have a friend than to be all alone, because then you will get more enjoyment out of what you earn.

If you fall, your friend can help you up. But if you fall without having a friend nearby, you are really in trouble.

Solomon's Baby Sitter

Solomon is so blessed with a wonderful baby sitter - my sister Oon Ai. With her love & passion for children, she has been blessing my family by raising Solomon in the right path & environment.

She is patient with Solomon & teaches Solomon not only on knowledge but also character. Very careful on the selction of food for Solomon & always reminds me not to speak negative on him.

Positive confession is the way of life for my sister, including speaking positive in Solomon's life. Thanks God for blessing my family with this great baby sitter. I believe that:

"The righteous man walks in his integrity; His children are blessed after him." Proverbs 20:7 NKJV

My Little Prince

My son....

God has blessed me with a son on 16th Jan 2007. I named him after a wise & rich King in Old Testament of the Bible - Solomon. It is my hope on him to be wise, but not necessary to be very rich as King Solomon (however, at least need to be able to provide for himself & his family).

His present in my family is really a blessing to us. His laughter makes us feel like we are the most blessed couple in the world. We enjoy seeing him grow physical, mental & spiritually day by day. No matter how tired we are after work, when we see him & carry him, all the tiredness disappear.

After becoming parents, we begin to understand how amazing it is our father & mother's love on us. How difficult they were to bring us up for the last 30 years, their sacrifices, hardwork....especially with the limited resources at that time.

Furthermore, we suddenly understand the real meaning of this Bible verse:

For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life."

My wife...

I met my wife in 1997. We were studying at the same local university in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. After one year, we started dating in March 1998. That means, this year March 26, will be our 10 years anniversary. We have gone through happy & sad moments together for the last 10 years. The challenges that we faced make our relationship stronger & closer. We come from different family background with different teaching. Just imagine, two persons come from totally different background, but need to live together, this itself is a challenge.

Thanks God! By His grace, my wife was baptised few years ago as Christian. Now, we serve the same God & have same believe & faith.

Marriage without God is a disaster in life. But, with God, wife is God's blessing to men.

My friends...

Meeting & chatting with all my good + old friends is a wonderful moment in life, especially with some drink (beer, my favorite) & peanuts. Just got the chance to meet up with some of them during the Christmas last year & we have a fantastic sharing for more than 4 hours. Everyone was excited to share his / her happy experiences in 2007 & planning for 2008. New members also being added to our gang, Isaac & Solomon. They are the second generation of our gang. Enjoying the friendship that given by God is the blessing to life. Hope that everyone of us will know how to treasure our friends.

My blog!!

Very happy that I finally manage to have my own blog. I am very excited to share my life with all of you through this blog. This is my first step to venture into new area of my interest - writting. It is always my dream to become an author. So, this will be the my first move to let my dream come to pass. I will try to write a least once per week to share with you my life experience throughout the week. I hope to meet up with friends all around the world who has the similar interest with me.

Last but not least, thanks to my wife - Soo Kwan & son - Solomon. My life will not be complete without them.
